There is something seriously wrong with human beings.

"I find it extremely impossible not to cry when I hear Stevie Nicks’s “Landslide,” especially the lyric: “I’ve been afraid of changing, because I’ve built my life around you.” I think a good test to see if a human is actually a robot/android/cylon is to have them listen to this song lyric and study their reaction. If they don’t cry, you should stab them in the heart. You will find a fusebox."

tracywan:

There are certain types of relationships I covet that aren’t relationships at all. The French have a word for it that doesn’t really translate into its assumed English equivalent: une complicité, or a tacit understanding. This doesn’t come from love or experience or anything nurtured, it would seem, but from pure alignment - the ridges on your zipper just happen to fit into the ridges of theirs, at least in this exact moment of your life. Like when two characters who’ve just met exchange a nod or a smile before one of them does something that alters the course of the narrative. Then the film goes on, and they never speak again.

The perfect kind of relationship.

"In not too many years, Texas could switch from being all Republican to all Democrat. If that happens, no Republican will ever again win the White House. New York and California are for the foreseeable future unalterably Democrat. If Texas turns bright blue, the Electoral College math is simple … The Republican Party would cease to exist. We would become like the Whig Party. Our kids and grandkids would study how this used to be a national political party. ‘They had Conventions, they nominated Presidential candidates. They don’t exist anymore."

Guys like Ted are oblivious to how they themselves are destroying the GOP.
